An extremely promising beginning as, in an innovation clearly inspired by Simon Holmes and Denis Pugh in the Sky Sports Shot Centre, it quickly becomes clear that the show is to be performed projected onto a big-screen.
However, in an extended section about Chihuahuas, it seems barely credible that Munnery fails to mention Supermex, Lee Trevino. The oversight is brought into sharper focus by the fact that The Open is currently taking place at Muirfield, the site of Trevino’s finest hour. The tension brought about by this elephant in the room is palpable.
Munnery did manage to pick things up, and salvage a rating of two golf balls, with some interesting points about dark matter – a clever metaphor for the thorny (but often overlooked) issue of slow play in tournament golf.
